Seating will be as many as 800 for dinner events and 1,000-plus for shows. The new six-story, $175 million, 342,000-square-foot expansion will include a 10,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, an outdoor resort-style pool area, and 20,000-square feet of additional convention and meeting room space, for dinners, shows and special events. About 100 California companies are building the hotel, employing about 1,000 in the trades. The resort currently has more than 1,500 employees, plus additional workers employed by various restaurant tenants. Details on that training also will be available at the fair.
